Alabama Declares
Following Alabama Gov. Bob Riley's official declaration that his state will recognize May 1 as 'Silver Star Day,' state Rep. Greg Wren (fifth from left) held a reception for four veterans wounded in four different conflicts. Sean Phillips (from left), a veteran of the Iraq war; David Cox, a World War II veteran; Speaker Seth Hammett; Deloris Bryson, Leroy Arceneaux, a Korean War veteran; Robert Jones, a Vietnam veteran; and Air Force Lt. General Stephen Lorenz attended. Each veteran was presented a Silver Star Families of America banner in recognition of their sacrifices.
