The City of Mons, Belgium recently unveiled A plaque honoring 2nd Lt. John Steinwedel, an American pilot who parachuted from his P-47 D Thunderbolt only to be shot by German forces here June 5, 1944. He will now be remembered by all who walk by No. 6, Rue des Droits de l'Homme in Mons. the plaque is in both French and English. Photo Credit:
